Eventhough it has many islands, logistics in Indonesia is still relatively stagnant among the ASEAN region. Therefore, Indonesian government launched NLE (National Logistic Ecosystem) to improve the quality of logistics business in Indonesia.
Compared to other countries in the ASEAN region, logistics costs in Indonesia still high. Likewise, the performance of domestic logistics, is also relatively stagnant.
For those reason, the government has tried to fix the problem. For instance, removing obstacles and reducing the cost of the flow of goods in international and domestic trade, and create a simple yet modern platform.
Furthermore, Indonesian government decides to create National Logistic Ecosystem.
NLE is an abbreviation of National Logistic Ecosystem. In fact, this helps to harmonize the flow of goods and international documents. Starts from the means of transport (ships/airplanes) to goods at the warehouse.
This comes from The Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance (DJBC Kemenkeu). The procedures for each arrival and departure manifests will go through this system.
Based on the explanation above, therefore, it has several benefits for logistics in Indonesia, such as :
First benefit is creating efficient regulations with excellent service standards. This works specifically by simplifying and eliminating repetition and duplication of business processes.
Second, NLE creates a good logistics spatial planning strategy with IT-based systems. Moreover, It is also capable of creating digital collaboration on a platform.
Third, NLE involves other business outside government.
Therefore, DJBC Kemenkeu offers several services in NLE. For instance, completing sea and air transport documents and SP2 port issuance documents,
Besides that, they also handle custom clearance, issuing permits, availability of warehouses, and searching for a means of transport.
